SH 130 Sponsors Education Foundation of Lockhart Fundraiser
$10,000 DONATION FROM SH 130 CONCESSION CO. HELPS FOUNDATION RAISE $39,365
LOCKHART, TEXAS (Nov. 4, 2016) — SH 130 Concession Co. donated $10,000 to the Education Foundation of Lockhart ISD to sponsor of the non-profit’s Second Annual Community Art Auction & Social Mixer held last night at the Dr. Eugene Clark Library.
The event raised $39,365 for the Foundation, money that will be used to fund grants available to Lockhart ISD teachers in order to help bring innovative classroom projects and learning tools to the classroom.
The funds are awarded annually to Lockhart ISD teachers who apply directly to the Foundation for grants up to $1,000 for individual applicants or $2,000 for joint applications to purchase classroom resources that are not supported in the school district’s operations budget.
SH 130 Concession Company has been a strong supporter of the Foundation since it was founded in September 2014.
To date the organization has granted 36 grants valued at $48,595. The next grants will be awarded in the spring.
