Community

SH 130 Concession Co. plays an active role in the communities we serve, and we are proud to partner with local charitable and civic groups to help improve the health and economic prospects for those living along the SH 130 Corridor.

Education

In 2011, SH 130 Concession Co. partnered with the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) and AP \ Strategies (APS) to expand Advanced Placement math and science programs in the Lockhart Independent School District. We’ve contributed $386,750 to support intensive teacher training and mentoring as well as Saturday student prep sessions. The five-year program also provides financial incentives for teachers and students based on academic performance.

SH 130 Concession Co. was instrumental in establishing The Education Foundation for Lockhart ISD in 2014 and continues to play a leadership role in this non-profit organization that provides teachers and administrators grants of up to $1,000 to help pay for programs and supplies not covered in school operating budgets. The Foundation is the first of its kind in the Lockhart school district and offers us the ability to positively impact every school in the district. Our company has donated more than $17,000 to the organization to date.

Economic Development

Construction of the SH 130 toll road brought unprecedented economic opportunity to the corridor between Austin and San Antonio.  SH 130 Concession Co. regularly partners with economic development organizations and local businesses to promote regional growth and development.

Since 2012, SH 130 Concession Co. has contributed more than $40,000 to the Greater San Marcos Partnership, a public-private partnership focused on creating jobs and increasing investment in Hays and Caldwell Counties.

Healthy Communities

Since 2015, SH 130 Concession Co. has donated $10,000 to Seton’s Care-A-Van mobile health clinic serving low-income children in Caldwell, Hays and Bastrop counties. Visits to the clinic — which provides preventative care, treatment of minor illnesses an immunizations — have increased significantly the last several years and SH 130 is doing our part to help the non-profit Seton Hays Foundation increase community support on order to meet growing demand.
